Happy Leap Year!

We can only celebrate this time once every four years, when we get to cherish an extra day making 366 days in a year.

Lets not forget that on a Leap Year, traditionally a woman is allowed to propose to a man on this day.

Remember, only once every four years, had you been born on 29th February 1988, you would be celebrating your 6th Birthday (even though technically your body age would be 24 years old), not yet old enough to go along to a PG rated movie, not to mention 18 movies, entering the Lotto, cigarettes, alcohol, entry into clubs etc.

So how are you guys spending your extra day?  You better make the most of it, the next one is four years away!

The Myth and the Madness of Edgar Allan Poe

Recently I have been dancing with Ballet Fleming who are soon to show a production based on the American author, poet, editor and literary critic, Edgar Allan Poe.

I find it fascinating how the show has been put together using his work and translating it into dance.

What is more interesting, the head of the Edgar Allan Poe National Historical Site's parents used to dance with New York City Ballet, along with Christopher Fleming (Artistic director of Ballet Fleming). I find it remarkable how the web of connections has reached back around within the artistic world.

Here are a couple of blogs from the lead dancers in the company and their roles in the ballet...

New York, New York

So I took a little trip to New York yesterday and took my first open audition in America!  Also, my first open audition in 6 months.  I loved New York and had so much fun!  Can't wait to go back again.

On the bus ride home, I was ready to take another ballet class, might have have something to do with the coffee and Pepsi I drank before boarding the bus!
